We are looking for a highly experienced Full Stack React Native remote freelance developer with strong backend experience with virtual video livestreaming for our iOS platform, a health, wellness and beauty livestream startup.

We will be developing an Android version and currently building our Android platform.

We are based in California.

You will join a small startup team of developers, testers and designers who are devoted to making a well-designed mobile application with a clean user interface.

Maintaining, fixing and improving existing software with clean, efficient code are some of the primary responsibilities for this role.

As part of the Team, you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional agile team to develop testable software, design, architecture and user-facing features in our React Native application

• Testing and deploying programs and systems

• Provide technical estimates for development efforts and identify when solutions fall beyond the scope of planned work

• Evaluate and advise on the best development tools, coding patterns, and software frameworks needed to accomplish a quality product

• Investigate and resolve issues with our applications and provide suggestions for improvements

• Recommend improvements in process and software design within the team

• Work through new and difficult React Native issues and contribute to libraries

• Create and maintain continuous integration and delivery of React Native applications

• Help identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the agile software development process

• Develop applications and tools by producing clean, efficient code

• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting

• Review, diagnose and fix bugs code; troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance

• Perform validation and verification testing

• Document and demonstrate solutions as required and gather specific requirements and suggest solutions to the team

• Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies

• Make informed decisions quickly and taking ownership of services and applications at scale

• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality

You will be responsible for:

• Writing well-designed, testable and efficient code

• Gathering and evaluating user feedback as needed

• Providing code documentation and other inputs to technical documents.

• Supporting continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review

Minimum Qualifications:

• You have your own Apple Mac computer to work on the app and an iPhone

• Direction, self-starter and self-motivate

• Familiar with a variety of the computer field's concepts, practices, and procedures

• Excellent documentation skills and written and verbal communication skills

• Must be independent and self-motivated, with strong analytic skills and creative thinking

Additional Information: You have at least 3+ years of real-world experience building and maintaining software and experience developing across a full-stack, e.g., web server, relational database, and client-side/front-end.

• Required skills: React Native, AWS (EC2, Elastic Beanstalk), Github, iOS, Node.js, MongoDB, Stripe

• Bonus Skills: Android, RoR, Data Analytics

• Source Code Control (Subversion, Git)

• Experience building RESTful APIs

Preferred skills and experience:

• Mobile app development

• API design and maintenance

• UI libraries and frameworks

• Functional programming

• 2+ years of experience as an architect - proven ability to design and implement robust and scalable systems with flexible and scalable UI that meets future needs

• Expertise in MVC, HTML, CSS, React

• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles

• Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment & continuous monitoring

• Experience scaling web applications and optimizing applications for performance

• Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles to provide intuitive mobile applications

• Great critical thinking, troubleshooting, creative and innovative problem-solving skills

• Initiative and the ability to work independently and collaborate within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with HTML5, modern CSS, and JavaScript and other modern web technologies and responsive CSS frameworks

• Can demonstrate ability to build universal applications using JavaScript

• Application frameworks like React.js or equivalent

• React Component Architecture or equivalent

• Agile Software Methodology

• API Integration

• Strong knowledge in application development tools

• Livestreaming or video streaming app development experience is a plus, with Agora is a double bonus

Able to start as soon as possible

This position is remote, off-site and gig work with estimated 20-30 hours per week or more if needed

Pay rate is in USD per hour and will depend on experience based on your background & test results

You will be given a test by the dev team as part of the hiring process
